First Weekend of Competition & Players of the Week!
Overall, our teams competed well over the weekend. The DEA 11U black team taking home the FIRST championship of the spring season for DEA Nation!!
In addition to their success we also had four teams that each finished in 2nd place! Some of these divisions had as many as ten teams! We are proud of all of our players for competing hard and for our parents for bringing a positive presence to the bleachers. DEA Nation represented well in our Spring Season debut!
Throughout the season we will be selecting "players of the weekend" award. There will be 2 players selected for this award on a week to week basis. One player will represent 4th - 8th grade, and one player will represent the 9th-11th grade division. Players will have their name and picture posted on the DEA Nation website every Monday after competition.
This weeks 2 recognized players!!
4th-8th Grade Player of the Week
Colin Cajthaml
Through his tenacious defense and skilled offensive play, he was a standout performer contributing on both ends of the court. Especially exciting was that he spent the last 4 weeks recovering from an injured foot. We can't wait to see what the future hold for this tough competitor.
High School Player of the Week
Jonathan Bufford
Johnathan brought passion and intensity to the game. He was a driving force in motivating his teammates to remain competitive in a tough environment. His dynamic dynamic style of play proved to be an asset for the 17U team.
Now that we've gotten our first competition weekend under our belts, we have an understanding of where we stand as individuals, as teams, and as a program. We have two weeks until our next competition. Each of us must focus on improving every day. We are very proud to have you all wearing black and green and look forward to seeing everyone progress throughout the rest of the season.
Thank you and we'll see you all at practice..
